Wedding Car decoration- why bother

Decorating your wedding car is an element in the complex called “wedding preparations” there are many ways to decorate a groom and bride car and even in this small niche there are modern and innovative design along side with old fashion designs. In many places in the world decorating cars with flowers is history, although in some countries wedding cars are still mainly decorated by flower bouquets which are placed (more accurate- glued) to the car’s hood. In general- using fresh flowers is less common, and many are reluctant to use of flowers for such a task.

In the last years wedding cars get more attention than in the past, and people understand the importance of matching the wedding car decoration to the whole wedding’s theme. A decorated wedding car is a sort of a setting for the whole ceremony. Some weddings have a special theme or a special blend of colors in their design that sometimes go all the way to the groom and bride’s clothing for example if light purple or cream color were chosen as the theme colors (curtains, tables, flowers, invitations etc.) you could join your car to the theme and decorate it with matching colors.

Another very important match is the decoration’s match to the color of the car itself. If the chosen car is white- most colors will be a match and any kind of decoration would look colorful and appropriate. As mentioned earlier, car decorations are made without using balloons or flowers. The most common and effective decoration uses tulle cloth, net fabric, organza fabric and designed ponpons.

If you decided to decorate your own car, it is important for you to know what kind of car will be used, what will be its color- for example- while using a white car, I recommend using a different colored fabric(cream, pink, light purple etc.), the color of the ponpons and decoration straps’ colors should be complimentary and matching the fabrics color.

If you chose to purchase a ready-made decoration kit, order a kit that will suit the cars color and size- for example- decorating a small car with a large kit might yield an over decorated tasteless result .on the other hand – a large car decorated with two small ponpons might look ridicules rather than decorated. Even when purchasing a ready-made kit- it is important to take the size and color factors in consideration. If you are renting a car, it might be impossible to know its color in advance.

Marathi Wedding Customs

Like all wedding celebrations in India, Marathi matrimonial functions go for a number of days. Most of the weddings in Marathi are grand and has several rituals that begin several days before the actual wedding day. According to Marathi matrimonial, many rituals happen before and after the wedding day. Alliances for Marathi matrimony were earlier searched with the help of village priests or relatives, but now matrimonial websites are becoming popular to find the bride or groom for Marathi community.

The main wedding rituals happen in the morning though some happens in the afternoon too. All depends on the muhurat, which is the auspicious time to tie the knot according to Hindu rites. One common muhurat or auspicious time is when cows return in the morning after grazing fields. This muhurat is known as Goraj Muhurta. As a custom, no Hindu Marathi matrimonial takes place in the night.

Some common rituals before the day of wedding in Marathi custom are Sakhar Puda, Kelvan, and Kuldevta. Horoscope of girl and boy are matched. The family astrologer matches the horoscopes and checks compatibility issues. With all things sorted, the families gets ready for wedding celebrations. The Sakhar Puda ritual, boy and girl have a piece of gur (jaggery). This is similar to engagement in other communities of India. The boys parents present the girl with traditional sari and green bangles. The bride to be wears the green bangles. Once this ritual is completed, both the families sends wedding invitation cards to relatives and friends.

Kelvan ritual is a happy time when both the families meet at the bride to be house and enjoy a feast of traditional Marathi cuisine. This family get together happens two-three days before the wedding day.

Like all Hindu community-wedding rituals, a prayer offering to Hindu deities is necessary before beginning of anything. Even in Marathi matrimony customs, the families worship the Hindu gods and seek their blessings.

Wedding day activities in a Marathi matrimonial involves several small and big rituals. There is the Haldi ceremony where the bride and groom is applied a paste of turmeric, cream, sandalwood and scented oil. With the help of mango leaves, this paste is applied in all over the body. Then both the bride and groom are given a ritual bath.

Another wedding day ritual is the Seemant Puja where the family members of groom visit the brides house and they have delicious lunch of local delicacies.

The priest who chants Mangalashtakas which are holy verses to seel blessing of Hindu gods and goddess, conducts the wedding ceremony. Family members and close relatives are present during the rituals. At the end of each verse, the priest explains the meaning of verse to the gathering of people. The groom ties the mangalsutra along the brides neck and then both of them exchange garlands. Another common ritual in Marathi matrimonial wedding is the saptapadi, where the bride and groom encircles the holy fire.

Other wedding days rituals are Laxmi Pooja and Kanyadaan (Jhal Phirwane).

The post wedding Marathi matrimony rituals are Sun Mukh Baghne, where for the first time the grooms mother see her new daughter in law s face. She combs her hair. This is symbolic and implies that they should have a relation like mother-daughter. No wedding is complete without wedding dinner.

Wedding Dress Shopping

This is the big day! The dress is the biggest part of the show! What will you wear? Who will go with you to pick it out? What will look best? These questions and others plague every bride as she begins the journey towards her second love, her wedding dress. Being thoughtful about the process of selecting your wedding dress, will create an experience that is memorable because of the amazing way it made you feel.

1. Style: Brides almost never arrive to a dress shop with absolutely no clue as to what they want to wear on their wedding day. Most have looked online or in magazines to see what styles they would like. While this is a great way to get a head start, it can also be a source of extreme disappointment. The style you have in mind might look fabulous on you. However, there is a chance it might not. Keeping an open mind when going to look for a dress is an important part of the journey. You may be completely surprised, but none the less thrilled with the style that actually does look fabulous on you. I had my heart set on a particular dress from a magazine when I went dress shopping. It was the first one I tried on at the store and I immediately knew when I saw myself in it that it was not for me. However, it did not ruin my day and I found there were plenty more styles that I liked even better.

2. Who to take: Traditionally, only a few people or even just the mother of the bride see the wedding dress before its debut. Today, brides want to feel more inclusive with their bridesmaids, siblings and sometimes even their fianc. This is completely up to the bride, however, this will be an emotional experience and it is always best to choose people who will be emotionally supportive. Yes, you want people who will honestly give you an opinion on dresses, but opinions and truth can be presented in various ways and taking people along who will present it in a loving, thoughtful way will make your experience that much richer. When I went to pick out my dress, I took my sister, who was my matron of honor and my mother. I narrowed it down to two dresses and even went back a second day to try them both on again before I finally chose one. Once I had narrowed it down to the two, my sister and mother never stated which one they preferred. They simply told me that I looked beautiful in both and that whichever one I went with would be wonderful. That was so reassuring to me. I did try and pressure them a bit to confess which one they preferred, but they never did. I got to make the final selection and only received accolades from both. It was an awesome experience and I felt nothing but love and support from them.

3. Budget! Budget! Budget!: Did I mention budget? Can you imagine anything worse than looking in the closet at your wedding dress a month after your wedding and then looking at the stack of bills you and your husband have to pay and regretting that you went way over budget on a dress that you only wore for one day? This can sometimes happen even if you stayed on budget just because of the short time the dress is actually worn. So, if you have a budget, stick to it. If you don’t have a budget, but really need one, set one prior to going to look at dresses. Don’t live with regret.

4. Don’t be afraid to be creative: There are many options for accenting wedding dresses, so don’t be afraid to think outside the wedding dress box. For example, a colored sash makes a great addition to a dress that might not have the right amount of bling or style for you. A veil can also drastically change the look of a gown or a rhinestone head piece, if a veil isn’t for you. The point is to not just look at the dress as is, but consider how to give it your own personal touch. This can be especially important if you have selected a dress that helps you stay on budget, but isn’t your ideal gown.

The Proper Morning Wedding Etiquette

A good advice for making a wedding romantic and truly special is to make the ceremony debt-free and low-key as possible. Couples should save their money and not pay much attention to wedding advices features in magazines. Love is basically between the couple that will be getting married so its best they focus on each other.

A morning wedding followed by a luncheon reception is ideal, as it will give the couple enough time for their honeymoon, starting a new life and have enough energy to perform immediate post-wedding activities. Over 200 guests waiting at an expensive sit-down dinner will not add anything special to the romance.

A morning wedding will also help the couple save money and their eager energy and more than half a day to savor the moment of finally getting hitched.

Etiquette in a morning wedding

A morning wedding can be formal, semi-formal or informal. The bride can be outfitted with a short wedding dress or suit. In a formal morning wedding, the bride’s gown should touch the floor and veil fingertip or slightly below the middle knuckle of the mid finger. A fingertip veil becomes more attractive when it is used with an elbow length blusher. For a semi-formal morning wedding, the gloves and blusher veils are optional.

The groom’s attire is typically composed of a business, sportcoat or morning suit in accordance to the level of formality. In a semi-formal morning wedding, proper etiquette dictates that the groom can sport a dark stroller or suit without black or gray tails. In a formal wedding, a morning suit, which is composed of gray pinstripe trousers, ascot, gray vest and a cutaway coat, is suffice. The groom also has the option to wear a tuxedo if he wants to.

The groom and bride’s attire should complement each other. If the bride is wearing a casual short wedding dress, then the groom should wear a business suit or sportcoat instead of a tuxedo.

Regardless whether the wedding is during the morning or late in the evening, there is a certain etiquette that should be followed in the ceremony.

– Bridesmaids and groomsmen should assist in the ceremonies if the morning wedding is not held strictly in private.

– The bridesmaids should not have dresses that is not too eye-catching but will match the wedding dress. In addition, they should be younger than the bride. The dresses can contain more ornaments and should consist of light, graceful fabric. Flowers should serve as the main decoration.

– The wedding dress should be simple but elegant and can be decorated with few ornaments or jewels that come from the parents or the bridegroom. The dress needs to have an attractive veil and garland.

– The bride needs to be assisted by her bridesmaids in wearing the wedding dress, receiving visitors and locate themselves at her left side. The first bridesmaid for easy access should keep the bouquet and gloves.

– The clergyman should be received by the groomsmen and led to the couple that will be married. They will also serve as assistants for the bridegroom, during the occasion.

– Guests should wear something light and fresh. A breezy dress or a light-colored suit would be appropriate. Those who are fond of hats are in luck in a morning wedding, as wearing one will complement the ease and energy of the ceremonies. Dark suits and dresses should be avoided.

The Wedding Breakfast

If the bride appears during breakfast proper etiquette dictates that she sits beside her husband at the center table, while the father and mother occupy the top to bottom and greets the guests coming in. Once the cake has been cut and every one has eaten, which include offering a toast to the new couple and giving acknowledgements, the bride and groom meet with their friends and eventually exit from the ceremony.

The newly-married couple can start in their wedding journey at around two or three o’clock, while the rest of the guests and family member depart from the reception area shortly after.
